The Thang:
Many times the BDay Q is a workout with reps equaling the Q’s age. Not so this morning, YHC just wanted to bring a good beat down. So we picked up some bricks after arriving at the PUB and got started.
SSH x 50 IC
Squats x 40 SC (Prisoner, Ballerina x 20 for set 2, Goblet x 20 for set 3)
Merkins x 30, 20, 15 SC
Burpees x 10, 10, 5
Reverse crunch x 40, 40, 25 SC
Lateral side raises x 20, 15, 10 SC
Plank x 2 min, 1min (ran out of time before the 3rd round)
Pullups x 4, 4 (ran out of time before the 3rd round)
COT:
I am 40 today! I had a few folks tell me this weekend at a party that everything will start to go downhill, but I feel like this is going to be the best decade so far. Every aspect of my life is better than when I was 22 and graduating from The Citadel. My health and fitness, my faith, my finances, and especially my relationships with friends and family. If life is not getting better as you get older I think you are doing it wrong. The past should not be the best time of your life, but the present and the future. Like a good wine or bourbon, we should be getting better with age.
