The Pilgrimage 11/26/20 (Thanksgiving)

20 PAX gathered today to give Thanks. As a bonus, we learned the origin
stories of many different aspects of our lives both in and out of F3.

Exercises below are in CAPS and performed in cadence during the warmup.

Warmup:
The pilgrims made their way to America to escape persecution and government
control. As with sea travel in that day over that long of a distance,
their numbers dwindled alone with their food stores. Thankful to see LAND,
their spotter let out a LAND-HO. The natives were excited to see these new
travelers from the ocean, so from ashore, the natives made sure they were
seen by PILGRIM FLAGGERS.

All dingy launches were lost in a storm, so after anchor to get ashore,
PILGRIM SWIMMERS were necessary to get to the beach. The European way of
greeting was the BOW.

Famished, the pilgrims immediately went to PICK BERRIES with the natives.

A new way of efficient travel on land, the natives showed the pilgrims how
to INDIAN RUN to the hunting ground. Masked behind a hill, the pilgrims
learned how to sneak up on wild game and to hide themselves low to the
ground, but ready to pounce if needed. Here the BEAR CRAWL and the PUSH-UP
were born. With berries and meat now, it was time to harvest the WILD
POTATOES. Natives loved games, so it was a relay race to see who could get
the most. Afterwards, the votes were counted. Apparently the pilgrims, in
a desperate attempt to hoard food, grabbed more than one POTATO per
pilgrim. It’s ok. We have enough.

At that time, natives harvested only what they needed that day. The
pilgrims introduced the barn concept, so everyone took their POTATOES TO
THE BARN.

In the spirit of celebration, the end was commemorated by a game of CLUCK
CLUCK GOBBLE, the precursor of what is known today as DUCK DUCK GOOSE.

Mosey back to the flag for COT.
