COT: Grit
Continuation of thoughts and awesome conversation led by @hokeypokey on
yesterday’s Rolling COT, check his backblast. We discussed an article on
the components of grit. The article was secular, however we inevitably
always landed back on our grit coming from Christ. As I thought about that
last night I landed in 2 Corinthians 12:9. Paul is pleading with Jesus to
“take the thorn from his side”. Jesus responds, “My grace is sufficient for
you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”. Paul goes on to say he
“will delight in weakness, insults, hardships, persecutions and
difficultes, for when he is weak, then he is strong”.
Sometimes we need to put ourselves in a position of weakness so that we
HAVE to hand it to Jesus and lean on His strength. Go do something hard. Do
something you cannot do on your own, and marvel at His work in you.
