“You don’t get to chose not to pay a price, you only get to chose which price to pay.” – Jordan Peterson
“No tree can grow to Heaven unless its roots reach down to Hell.” – Carl Jung
Both quotes above are “in your face,” hard-line attitudes on being human and the nature of our existence here on this world God has made for us. We are forced to make decisions every day that have meaning. They might be good decisions, bad decisions, or maybe no action was made at all. This is called complacency, and it is the choice “not to pay a price.” F3 calls for movement out of complacency and into the mental process of thoughfully engaging in decisions, small and large, that help create a consistent life-path. Some of those decisions will create joy, and some will create pain. As Jung stated above, the Kindom of Heaven cannot be reached without suffering, because without pain, there is no way for us to learn what joy is and why Heaven is there for us at the end of our journey.
